Guardians Beat White Sox, Force Decisive Game 5

The Cleveland Guardians beat the Chicago White Sox 9-5 in Game 4 of the American League Division Series, forcing a decisive Game 5 in Cleveland on Saturday night. José Ramírez led the Guardians with a home run and three RBIs, and Cleveland broke open the game with a six-run sixth inning after trailing 4-3. The White Sox briefly led and mounted a late push, including Miguel Vargas’ ninth-inning homer, but Cleveland’s bullpen held on. The Guardians have now won two straight elimination games after falling behind 2-0 in the best-of-five series, a deficit they had never overcome in a postseason series. Saturday’s winner advances to face the Tampa Bay Rays in the ALCS.
