Braves Even NLDS; White Sox, Rays Take Leads
Atlanta evened its National League Division Series with a 3-2 win over Los Angeles after left-hander Ray Kerr, named the starter that morning, struck out Shohei Ohtani and allowed two hits over 2⅔ innings. The Braves opened the series with Dylan Dodd as an opener in a bullpen game, while the Dodgers’ announced rotation was Tarik Skubal, Blake Snell and Yoshinobu Yamamoto for Games 1-3. Ohtani said he did not know the cause of injuries to his right biceps, left knee and neck and expected to address them in the offseason. In the American League, Chicago took a 1-0 series lead over Cleveland with a 3-0 win, and a Monday preview highlighted left-hander Anthony Kay against a Guardians lineup that had struggled against southpaws. Tampa Bay also led the Yankees 1-0 after Drew Rasmussen carried a no-hitter into the eighth inning of the opener.
