The Cincinnati Reds defeated the NL East champion Atlanta Braves 4-0 behind six scoreless innings from Brandon Williamson, who allowed three hits and no walks in a strong performance after an injury-plagued season. Elly De La Cruz stole his 29th base, hit his 29th homer and added an RBI single, putting him one home run and one stolen base from becoming the fourth player in Reds history to join the 30-30 club. Dane Myers also homered, while Eugenio Suárez hit his 350th career home run. Atlanta rookie JR Ritchie took the loss despite striking out a career-high eight batters, and Ronald Acuña Jr. left after fouling a ball off his leg; X-rays were negative and he was listed as day-to-day with the playoffs approaching.
