Brewers Take 2-0 NLDS Lead With Walk-Off

Milwaukee beat San Diego 3-2 in Game 1 and won Game 2, 4-3, on Jackson Chourio’s two-out, two-strike, two-run walk-off single off closer Mason Miller in the ninth, taking a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five NLDS. Chourio also homered in Game 1, which included a rules-compliant roof play that turned Ty France’s deep fly into an out. The Padres led Game 2 3-1 before Milwaukee scored in the seventh and rallied after Miller walked the bases loaded. The series moves to San Diego for Tuesday’s Game 3, where the Padres face elimination and a Brewers win would send Milwaukee to the NLCS. Nick Pivetta is set to start for San Diego against Dustin May, as both teams manage their pitchers’ workloads after extended relief outings.
