Jalen Hurts’ Eagles Future Faces Offseason Questions

Jalen Hurts’ future with Philadelphia is facing renewed scrutiny after a blood clot in his calf forced him to miss at least one game and raised questions about his availability for the rest of the season. The Eagles’ decision is complicated by his contract: much of its guaranteed money expires after this season, making an extension or other change a potential offseason issue. Hurts has led Philadelphia to multiple NFC championships and won Super Bowl MVP, but critics continue to question aspects of his play, and the team has not added guarantees beyond this year. NFL insider Ian Rapoport characterized the choice as extending Hurts or moving on, while noting that teams rarely part with a franchise quarterback who has won a Super Bowl. One outlet also floated a speculative trade for Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders as a short-term option if Hurts remains sidelined.
