Jalen Hurts Sidelined by Movement in Leg Blood Clot
The Philadelphia Eagles ruled quarterback Jalen Hurts out of Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers after a follow-up ultrasound showed movement in a superficial blood clot in his calf. Hurts said he was cleated during the October 4 game against the Rams; an ultrasound before Philadelphia’s London game against Jacksonville detected the clot, but doctors cleared him to play, and he completed that game without limitation. The team said it is determining the appropriate treatment and that Hurts’s health and safety are its priority. Tanner McKee is expected to start in Hurts’s place, with rookie Cole Payton also on the roster. Philadelphia has lost three straight games and has a 2-3 record.
