Early Voting Sees Record Turnout in Georgia
Early voting for the Nov. 3, 2026, general election is underway, with start dates varying by state and county: Georgia began Oct. 13, Tennessee Oct. 14, Minnesota Oct. 16, Arkansas Oct. 19 and Duval County, Florida, Oct. 20; Idaho schedules began as early as Oct. 13. Georgia recorded more than 188,600 ballots on its first day, over 53,000 more than on the first day of early voting in 2022. In Warren County, Ohio, 4,420 people voted in person during the first four days—more than double the comparable 2022 figure—while absentee ballot requests there and statewide are down. Tennessee voting runs through Oct. 29, with voters deciding three proposed constitutional amendments and contests for statewide and legislative offices; Shelby County is also voting in newly redrawn congressional districts. Early voting is also taking place in Arkansas, Minnesota, Iowa and North Carolina, where schedules, ballot deadlines, identification rules and voting options vary by jurisdiction; officials urge voters to check local requirements.
