Polls Show Latino Voters Split on GOP
Latino support for Republicans appears uneven: a Rasmussen survey found Republicans leading Democrats 50% to 42% among Hispanic likely voters nationwide, while other recent polling and campaign developments point to Democratic gains in Texas and California. In Texas, reports describe rising disapproval of President Donald Trump among Latino voters amid concerns about prices and immigration enforcement, with Democrats investing heavily in Spanish-language outreach and competitive races emerging in South Texas, including TX-15 and TX-34. A separate NBC News-Telemundo poll found Trump’s approval among Latino voters at 27%, and the group’s views on which party would better handle the economy have shifted substantially toward Democrats. California polling likewise suggests growing dissatisfaction with Trump among Latino voters, with the economy a leading concern. Taken together, the reports suggest the GOP’s recent Latino gains may be vulnerable in key states, though the national Rasmussen result offers a contrasting picture.
