Fairshake announced Monday, October 5, 2026, that it will back 32 House candidates—19 Republicans and 13 Democrats—one month before the midterms. Six will receive $1 million each: Reps. Janelle Bynum, Steven Horsford, Derek Tran, French Hill, Bill Huizenga and Bryan Steil. Spokesperson Geoff Vetter said Fairshake "has always been and always will be an issue-focused organization" and backs "pro-crypto candidates who support American innovation in both parties." He said it has won 53 of 57 races engaged in this cycle. The Hill cited about $108 million cash on hand at the end of August; Politico and a wire cited over $120 million. Fairshake is funded primarily by Coinbase, Ripple and Andreessen Horowitz. It separately plans nearly $30 million opposing Sherrod Brown in the Ohio Senate race. The Hill noted support for Democrats follows the blockage last month by every Democrat and a handful of Republicans. French Hill chairs House Financial Services; Bryan Steil leads its digital assets subcommittee. No right-rated coverage appeared in the record. Politico framed the move as deploying a war chest before the midterms.

A million dollars per candidate this far out will just inflate campaign costs for everyone.
It's smart to spread support across both parties instead of picking sides early.
