Early voting and absentee-ballot options are opening or already available ahead of the Nov. 3, 2026, election in communities in Pennsylvania, Indiana, Illinois and Maine. Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, is offering mail-ballot drop-off at satellite election offices on select dates from Oct. 7 to 25, followed by ballot-return sites through Election Day; completed ballots must arrive by 8 p.m. Nov. 3. In Indiana’s Delaware and Bartholomew counties, early in-person voting begins Oct. 6, with additional Saturday hours and voting available at multiple vote centers; Delaware County’s voter-registration deadline is Oct. 5, while Bartholomew County voters can register on Election Day. Maine voters can vote early at town offices or request no-excuse absentee ballots by Oct. 29, and the state allows same-day registration; Secretary of State Shenna Bellows said mail voting would continue after the Supreme Court rejected a Trump administration effort to change the system. Jersey County, Illinois, officials reported moderate early turnout and encouraging mail-ballot returns, while noting that few races are contested but some referenda are on the ballot.

Maine's same day registration during early voting should help more folks turn out without extra hassle.
Glad early voting is open in Pennsylvania this year so I can skip the long lines on election day.
