Election Deadlines Near Across Pennsylvania, New York

Pennsylvania voters have until 5 p.m. Oct. 27 to apply for a mail ballot for the Nov. 3, 2026, general election; completed ballots must reach county election offices by 8 p.m. Election Day. Voters can also request, complete and return a mail ballot in person at their county election office by Oct. 27, and those who requested a ballot but cannot surrender it at the polls may vote provisionally. Across the Philadelphia region, counties use a mix of electronic pollbooks and paper voter lists to check in voters, with election officials emphasizing the need for backup procedures because technology failures and preparation errors have previously disrupted check-in.
