LSU Blanks No. 16 Mississippi State 31-0

No. 22 LSU shut out No. 16 Mississippi State 31-0, improving to 5-2, as quarterback Sam Leavitt delivered a standout, turnover-free performance. Leavitt completed 31 of 38 passes for 289 yards and four touchdowns, setting a career-high completion rate and ending a run of throwing an interception in every game this season. His mobility remained limited after he aggravated a hamstring injury, but he operated effectively from the pocket and connected with his receivers. LSU’s defense also controlled the game, holding Mississippi State to 121 passing yards and forcing an interception; the Bulldogs were without several injured key players.
