Rutgers rallied from a 23-13 halftime deficit to beat Maryland 37-30 in College Park, scoring 24 unanswered points in the second half and earning its first Big Ten win of the season. Dylan Lonergan threw for 291 yards and three touchdowns, while Clay Thevenin scored twice as Rutgers controlled possession and sustained its comeback. Maryland quarterback Malik Washington threw for two touchdowns, but the Terrapins’ offense could not keep pace after halftime. Maryland mounted a late drive and reached the Rutgers 11-yard line, but its potential tying touchdown was ruled incomplete when the receiver came down out of bounds, and the Terps turned the ball over on downs. The loss extended Maryland’s slide and left it winless in conference play.
