College Football Playoff Discusses 24-Team Expansion
Houston ended its winless start by beating Tennessee 26-3, as C.J. Stroud accounted for two touchdowns and the Texans’ defense forced two turnovers and recorded four sacks. The Titans fell to 0-5. In other NFL news, Cleveland rookie receiver KC Concepcion was ruled out after a helmet-to-helmet hit by New York’s Minkah Fitzpatrick; Fitzpatrick was penalized for hitting a defenseless receiver. In college football, Utah defenders forced a goal-line fumble by Kansas quarterback Isaiah Marshall. The College Football Playoff says talks with ESPN are continuing over a possible expansion from 12 to 24 teams, after an exclusive negotiating window ended.
