No. 24 East Tennessee State rallied from an early 10-point deficit to beat The Citadel 34-16, improving to 5-2 overall and 3-0 in Southern Conference play. The victory extended ETSU’s conference winning streak to a program-record seven games, with the Buccaneers pulling away through scores by their offense, defense and special teams. Running back TJ Peyton led the way with 110 rushing yards, including an 85-yard touchdown run, while ETSU’s defense recorded five sacks and recovered two fumbles. After a bye week, ETSU is scheduled to visit VMI on Oct. 24.
