Central Michigan will host Western Michigan for the 97th Victory Cannon rivalry game, looking to rebound from a loss to Ohio and reclaim the trophy. The Chippewas are 3-3 overall, while the defending MAC champion Broncos are also 3-3 and enter after a 38-7 win over Kent State; Western Michigan leads the all-time series 54-40-2. Central Michigan coach Matt Drinkall and freshman starter Drew Esper emphasized the heightened urgency and preparation the rivalry demands. Western Michigan is favored by seven points, with its offense facing a Central Michigan defense that has struggled to stop third-down conversions.
