Russian Strikes Close Three Kyiv Bridges
Russian strikes have damaged several bridges across the Dnipro in Kyiv, forcing full or partial closures of three of the capital’s six road bridges and suspending traffic on the Northern Bridge after a Saturday attack. The closures have caused severe gridlock between the largely residential left bank and the right bank, where most jobs and government institutions are located; further damage could complicate the transport of supplies and military cargo. Moscow says the bridges support Ukrainian military logistics, while Ukrainian officials and analysts warn the attacks could deepen economic disruption and civilian hardship. The wider Russian air campaign has killed civilians and caused injuries in Kyiv and other cities, including a child in Vyshhorod, as winter approaches. Ukraine says it has received proposals from the United States, India, Turkey and Egypt for a partial truce covering attacks on energy infrastructure and Black Sea shipping.
