Russia Strikes Second Major Kyiv Bridge

Russian forces struck Kyiv’s Northern Bridge on Saturday, damaging its roadway and trolleybus wires and forcing authorities to block traffic across the crossing. The attack followed repeated strikes on the Southern Bridge, which was closed after damage to its roadway, support structure and protective barrier, disrupting transportation across the Dnipro River. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko described the attacks as part of a broader assault on the city’s critical infrastructure, while Russia’s Defense Ministry said the Northern Bridge was targeted because it supported Ukrainian troop movements and military supplies.
