Riyadh Airport Reportedly Extends Shutdown After 12 Killed
Riyadh’s international airport remained closed after a missile attack blamed by the Saudi-led coalition on Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis killed 12 people and injured more than 300. Aviation sources reported that the shutdown was extended, with damage to radar and communications equipment and runway inspections still needed. The Houthis threatened further attacks on Saudi airports, while Saudi Arabia and the rebels traded accusations of airstrikes; U.S. President Donald Trump said he was considering whether to join Saudi strikes. The escalation prompted international condemnation and rattled oil markets, while Yemen’s Houthi-run Health Ministry reported 91 people killed in Saudi-led coalition strikes over five weeks, most of them women and children.
