Israeli Strikes Kill Palestinians Across Gaza
Israeli strikes over the weekend killed at least five Palestinians in an apartment building in Gaza City, including four women and Christian mother Maisa Abu Dawood and her daughter Mary, according to Palestinian medical officials. Israel said the strike targeted senior Hamas official Ali al-Amoudi, describing him as a leading figure in the group’s Gaza leadership; the outcome remained under review, and Palestinian reports did not list him among the dead. Israel’s military also said separate strikes in Nuseirat and Khan Younis killed two Hamas Nukhba Force members who took part in the October 7, 2023, attack, and alleged they were rebuilding Hamas capabilities and planning attacks despite the ceasefire. A separate strike on a vehicle reportedly killed one Palestinian and wounded at least 10; Gaza health authorities say Israeli strikes have killed about 1,445 Palestinians since the ceasefire began. Israel says its operations target militants and respond to ceasefire violations, while Hamas denies rearming or preparing attacks.
