President Donald Trump’s Board of Peace is expected to present a six-month, $2.45 billion recovery plan for Gaza covering 66 projects, including temporary housing, debris removal, hospital repairs, infrastructure restoration, economic recovery and a multinational security force. The proposal reportedly includes funding for infrastructure and security operations, such as bases and salaries for an International Stabilization Force and Palestinian police, as well as initiatives tied to Hamas disarmament. The plan estimates Gaza’s physical damage at about $35.2 billion and says comprehensive recovery could cost roughly $71.4 billion over the next decade. Implementation faces major obstacles, including the need for cooperation from Israel and Hamas, unresolved ceasefire and disarmament arrangements, uncertain donor funding and political complications surrounding Israel’s upcoming election.
