49ers' Juszczyk fined $14,926 for beer-chugging celebration

The NFL fined San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk $14,926 for a touchdown celebration during the team's 35-13 win over the Miami Dolphins. After catching a 6-yard scoring toss from Brock Purdy at the 5:46 mark of the third quarter, Juszczyk embraced teammates Mike Evans and Deebo Samuel then mimed drinking with his hand to his mouth and head tilted back. The league said he violated Rule 12, Section 3, Article 1. Its letter stated his imitation of chugging a beer constituted an offensive demonstration and could reasonably be construed as being in poor taste. Juszczyk, nicknamed Juice, has appealed the fine. He told ESPN, "I don't even drink beer," and reposted on X, "Can't make this stuff up." Reports say he has used a similar chugging motion throughout his career. The 35-year-old is a Harvard graduate in his 14th year of pro football and 10th with the 49ers and a 10-time Pro Bowl fullback. His wife is designer Kristin Juszczyk. He also received a separate $20,033 fine for a helmet-related block in the Week 1 win over the Rams.
