Bills Open Highmark Stadium With 41-31 Win

The Buffalo Bills opened their new $2 billion Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park with a 41-31 regular-season victory over the Detroit Lions, powered by Josh Allen’s five touchdowns. The sellout crowd produced an atmosphere players described as among the loudest they had experienced, while opening ceremonies featured performances by Barenaked Ladies, Auli’i Cravalho and OneRepublic, as well as “O Canada” honoring the team’s large Southern Ontario fan base. Critics cited higher ticket, parking and personal seat-license costs, limited canopy coverage, questions about sound and wind performance, and the replacement of the natural-grass field after turf reportedly came loose during preseason use.
