Colts’ Alec Pierce Ruled Out With Heel Injury

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce was ruled out of Sunday night’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs after suffering a left heel injury late in the first quarter. Pierce hopped off the field, could not put weight on his left foot, was examined in the medical tent and later carted to the locker room for X-rays. The injury occurred in the same leg where he underwent offseason ankle surgery, which delayed his return to practice until late August. Pierce had one catch for 11 yards before leaving, following four receptions for 61 yards in the season opener. The 26-year-old signed a four-year, $114 million contract this offseason after leading the NFL in yards per reception in each of the past two seasons and surpassing 1,000 receiving yards in 2025.
