Raiders’ Jeanty Misses Practice, Status Uncertain
Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty’s status for Sunday’s game against the Patriots is uncertain after he went from full practice Wednesday to limited Thursday with a foot/ankle issue and was not seen during Friday’s media viewing period. Jeanty has played through an ankle injury since the summer and has carried a heavy workload, but his rushing production has dipped after a 102-yard Week 1 performance; he has also contributed as a receiver. The Raiders’ struggling run game has multiple possible causes: Jeanty has said he needs to break more tackles, coach Klint Kubiak has pointed to blocking schemes, and center Tyler Linderbaum has emphasized the offensive line’s collective performance. If Jeanty cannot play or is limited, rookie Mike Washington Jr. could take on a larger role, with Dylan Laube also potentially seeing more time.
