Seahawks Beat 49ers 26-21 Despite Running Back Fumble and Injuries
Seattle’s already thin running back group faced added uncertainty ahead of its Week 5 matchup with San Francisco, with George Holani listed as questionable because of rib and knee injuries and Zach Charbonnet and Jadarian Price unavailable. Holani then lost a fumble near Seattle’s goal line that San Francisco returned for a touchdown, intensifying criticism of the Seahawks’ ball security and backfield depth. Emanuel Wilson was among the remaining options, while Seattle added rookie Dontae McMillan to its practice squad and had also brought in Robert Henry Jr. to bolster the group. McMillan described the opportunity as a long-awaited chance, though his immediate role depended on whether Seattle elevated him and on the health of the available backs.
