Browns Rookie Concepcion Ruled Out After Penalized Hit by Fitzpatrick
Cleveland Browns rookie wide receiver and punt returner KC Concepcion was ruled out of the Week 5 game against the New York Jets with a head injury after a helmet-to-helmet hit from Jets safety Minkah Fitzpatrick in the first quarter. Concepcion had one catch for five yards before leaving; medical staff helped him to the locker room, and the Browns did not immediately say whether he had a concussion. Fitzpatrick was penalized for a facemask that removed Concepcion’s helmet and for hitting a defenseless receiver. Concepcion’s absence required the Browns to adjust their receiving and punt-return duties. Browns right tackle Tytus Howard also left early with an injury and was replaced by Dawand Jones.
