The Minnesota Vikings stayed unbeaten at 5-0 with a 23-13 win over the New Orleans Saints on Oct. 11, 2026, dropping the Saints to 1-4. Minnesota's defense held New Orleans to 142 yards. Kyler Murray threw for 229 yards and one touchdown without a turnover and rushed for 51 yards. Justin Jefferson had six catches for 79 yards, including a 15-yard score. Aaron Jones ran 25 times for 113 yards and a fourth-quarter touchdown. Will Reichard made field goals from 40, 54 and 55 yards; the 55-yarder was his 34th consecutive make. Tyler Shough completed 16 of 25 passes for 96 yards with two interceptions. Turnovers swung the score. Jayden Price fumbled the second-half kickoff, recovered by Minnesota, before Jefferson's touchdown made it 13-7. Byron Murphy Jr. intercepted Shough; a Vikings fumble was then returned 87 yards by Jonas Sanker to tie the game at 13 after Carlson missed the extra point. Jones scored to make it 20-13, and Reichard's 55-yarder sealed 23-13. Accounts differed on whether Jones's earlier fumble, recovered by Chase Young, was at the New Orleans 7 or the 3-yard line. At halftime Brees received his Hall of Fame ring and said he would always love and represent New Orleans.
