Houthi missile hits Aden palace, Yemeni government reports two dead
Houthi missiles struck the Al-Maashiq presidential palace complex in Aden on Oct. 15, 2026. Aden is the interim capital and seat of Yemen's internationally recognized government. Information Minister Moammar al-Eryani said five missiles hit the complex. A Yemen Ministry of Information statement said Prime Minister Shaya Al-Zindani and members of the government were safe. The government said two security personnel were killed. AFP cited three government military sources reporting four killed and 10 wounded. Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the strike hit the Saudi enemy's military operations headquarters in Aden as part of targeting Saudi military build-ups wherever they are. Claims of hitting weapons depots were not independently verified. Prime Minister Zindani called the attack cowardly and a continuation of their criminal behaviour. Saudi deputy foreign minister Rayed Krimly said Iran continues to arm, train and support the Houthi militia in violation of UN Security Council resolutions and that the latest escalation is encouraged by Iran. Three witnesses told Reuters they heard loud booms near the palace, and verified video showed smoke above it. The Saudi-led coalition said it intercepted a cruise missile aimed at Medina the same day; Houthis denied that launch. A Houthi strike killed 13 at Riyadh airport the prior Saturday.
