Saudi Arabia Says It Intercepted Missile in Medina
Saudi Arabia’s Saudi-led coalition said it intercepted and destroyed a cruise missile in the Medina region but did not identify its source or intended target; the Houthis denied launching an operation against Saudi territory. The report came amid escalating missile and drone attacks and interceptions involving Saudi cities and critical infrastructure, including Riyadh, Dhahran and airports. Earlier attacks caused a limited fire at an Aramco administrative building in Dhahran, while falling debris wounded four people in Riyadh and damaged 15 homes; separate reported attacks on Riyadh’s airport killed at least 18 people and injured more than 300. The coalition has carried out retaliatory strikes in Yemen, and the Houthis have threatened further attacks. The EU-Gulf summit scheduled for October 24 in Riyadh was postponed as fighting continued.
