Yemen, Riyadh Attacks Kill 13; Displacement Tops 210,000

The ICRC has warned that escalating attacks in Saudi Arabia and Yemen are causing a devastating civilian toll, urging all sides to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure. In Yemen, Houthi advances around Taiz have heightened fears of renewed siege and shortages among the city’s residents, while a government offensive to retake Sanaa has brought airstrikes to the capital and caused civilian casualties, including deaths and injuries. Residents in both cities face growing insecurity and concern that supplies of food, fuel and other essentials will run short. The renewed fighting threatens to deepen an already severe humanitarian crisis, with the ICRC warning that further escalation could have disastrous consequences for millions.
