Saudi Coalition Warns Sanaa Civilians Ahead of Operation
Turki al-Maliki posted that the Joint Forces Command of the Coalition requests that civilians evacuate the Yemen Petroleum Company al-Sabaha Central Station in Sanaa for their own safety, with a map of the site. Witnesses and Al Jazeera's team reported explosions shortly afterward. Houthi-linked Al-Masirah said airstrikes hit oil facilities west of Sanaa without evidence; the coalition did not confirm a strike. Yemen's Petroleum Company said the site held no petroleum stocks and a strike would not affect supplies. The order followed Houthi-claimed attacks on Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport that killed at least 13 and injured more than 300 on Saturday, plus one killed and 11 wounded on Sunday. The coalition said it intercepted three drones north of Riyadh on Tuesday. Air France-KLM, Air India, Etihad, Lufthansa, Delta, Gulf Air, and Qatar Airways suspended flights. Yahya Saree warned staff near Aramco sites and the airport to leave, calling them a legitimate target, and vowed a harsh and painful response in Riyadh if Sanaa is struck; he also said Houthi fighters were confronting Saudi-backed forces. The Saudi Cabinet warned of consequences. Donald Trump said the Houthis were misbehaving very badly; Mohammad Al Bukhaiti said U.S. involvement would bring a swift and painful response. Mohsen Rezaei said Washington's reply to Iran's conditions was insufficient and the Strait of Hormuz stays closed until they are met.
