Georgia practices wet-ball drills amid Alabama storm threat
As Tropical Storm Isaias threatened to bring heavy rain and wind to Georgia’s game at Alabama, Kirby Smart said his staff was monitoring forecasts and preparing for different conditions while keeping the week’s focus on the team’s broader game plan. Smart also described practicing with wet footballs and sprinklers—a routine he learned under Nick Saban—to help players handle slippery conditions, while cautioning that weather cannot be fully simulated and preparation should not revolve around one forecast.
