Erie Family Shooting Kills Eight, Suspect Dies
A gunman killed eight people, including seven relatives and a family friend, at a home in Erie, Pennsylvania, before taking his own life. The victims included his pregnant 24-year-old daughter, her two young children and unborn baby, as well as other family members and a friend who relatives said tried to protect the children. Police said two women were shot outside after arriving at the home, and officers later found the other victims and the gunman inside; authorities have not publicly identified him or the victims. At a memorial, the father of one of the children said the gunman had seemed cheerful and showed no obvious signs of distress.
