Woman Killed, Wichita Suspect Surrenders
Xavion Dates turned himself in to Wichita police on Oct. 8 in connection with the fatal shooting of his girlfriend, 22-year-old Aaliyah Wilson, at a west Wichita apartment. Investigators say the pair argued before Wilson was shot; Dates allegedly fled and carjacked a driver, who was not injured. Police later found the stolen Toyota RAV4 and searched for Dates overnight before he surrendered with help from family and violence interrupters. He was booked on suspicion of murder, carjacking and theft, and the case will be reviewed by the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office.
