Viral Cincinnati Kitten Gelato Gets Adopted
Gelato, a Cincinnati shelter kitten whose spinal injury left his hind legs unable to support him, has been adopted after his story and homemade wheelchair went viral. When the shelter’s standard wheelchairs were too large, veterinary staff member Mallory Smith fashioned one from cardboard, rulers, toy cars and tape; he later received a custom 3D-printed chair. Hope Hollandsworth, who has experience caring for cats with special needs, adopted him after seeing his story and said she was drawn to him immediately. The shelter thanked the public for sharing Gelato’s story and helping him find a home.
