Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie face puppy chaos in a BuzzFeed Barbie interview

Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, playing Barbie and Ken, sat down for a BuzzFeed interview surrounded by puppies and the room went sideways fast.

Gosling saw it coming. "I'm nervous I've seen this show before it's utter chaos." One puppy made the point plain: "he just peed." "he's eating it oh no oh they all want to eat it they all want to eat it they all want to eat it."

Presented by Starface and released July 9, 2023 as Ryan Gosling & Margot Robbie: The Puppy Interview, the eight-minute chat kept rolling while the dogs stayed chaotic. Robbie and Gosling laughed and answered fan questions about the movie anyway.

Keeping the story quiet had been tough. "it was very hard to keep the plot a secret... everyone was so excited about a Barbie movie they just wanted to know is that , Margot wig doing Barbie." Robbie also noted people had long told her she looked like Emma Mackey, who plays another Barbie; once they were both in full looks the resemblance faded. "I did not know this anyways."

Early on, Greta Gerwig organized a Barbie sleepover at Claridge's in London. "we did a Barbie sleepover at the beginning... we went to claridge's and Greta organized it and we literally were like in our pajamas playing games and ordering room service." The Kens could stop by but not stay. "Ryan couldn't make it he didn't want to sleep over anyway and uh so instead he had other things to do he sent a singing telegram." Robbie opened the door on the bit herself: "as a joke I was like oh it's the stripper I ordered and then when I opened the door it's like sorry about the older guy." The telegram performed a Braveheart scene and played bagpipes.
