Duren Scores 24 in Pistons Preseason Win

Jalen Duren made his preseason debut for the Detroit Pistons, scoring 24 points on 8-of-9 shooting and making all eight free throws in 15 minutes as Detroit beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 128-106. He added three rebounds, two steals and a block, and sat out the second half after returning from a conditioning period and missing the Pistons’ first two exhibitions. The game was the first preseason appearance for Detroit’s expected starting five; Cade Cunningham had 14 points and nine assists, and Duncan Robinson scored 15. Detroit came back from an early 10-point deficit and pulled away with second-half shooting and defensive pressure. Duren’s debut followed an offseason contract dispute that ended with him signing a fully guaranteed five-year, $200 million extension.
