USC freshman wide receiver Trent Mosley, the Trojans' leader with 255 receiving yards and four touchdowns through three games, is out for Saturday's Big Ten opener at Rutgers. Lincoln Riley told reporters Wednesday, Sept. 16, the team will keep monitoring the injury and does not expect it to be extremely long term, though the timeline remains inconclusive depending on how Mosley responds; he was listed out on that day's Big Ten Availability Report. In the Sept. 12 win over Louisiana (49-30), Mosley scored a third-quarter receiving TD, favored the right knee walking to the sideline, and was examined by trainers on the broadcast; he also returned a punt 86 yards for a score and entered the week averaging 19.6 yards per catch.
