SNL Mocks Trump, Hegseth Execution Livestream Plans
On the October 10 edition of Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update, Colin Jost and Michael Che mocked President Donald Trump after the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded Friday to South African human rights lawyer and judge Navi Pillay. Jost opened by calling the loss a tragic developing story, then said: "It's that President Trump has sadly not won the Nobel Peace Prize. I know, I know. But don't worry, I think he's taking it all in stride." He played a rally clip of Trump saying the prize was given out by a liberal United Nations figure nobody had heard of, and compared Trump's hopes to expecting an Oscar for Tom and Jerry. Che said Pillay, who learned she won at a conference in Germany, joked she might share the prize with Trump, and that the joke might make Trump bomb whatever country he thinks she is from. Che also ridiculed Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's reported plan to livestream a December firing-squad execution of the Fort Hood mass shooter. Trump had posted on Truth Social that he did not know Pillay, claimed he had settled eight wars, and said he was working on Iran and Russia-Ukraine conflicts. Rated coverage in the record was 2 left and 1 center, with no right-rated headlines.
