Russian strikes leave 370,000 without power in Ukraine

Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure have caused widespread damage and power outages as winter approaches. In the Chernihiv region, damage to an energy facility left nearly 19,000 customers without electricity, with repairs to begin when security conditions permit; separate strikes reportedly cut power to 370,000 people in the Volyn region and prompted emergency outages in Kyiv. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said more than 15 generation and transmission facilities were hit in a large overnight assault, warning that millions could lose electricity and heat and urging allies to strengthen air defenses. Restoration work is underway across affected areas.
