Philadelphia Man Killed, Another Injured in Dover Shooting

Nasir Cox, 22, of Philadelphia, was killed around 9:19 p.m. in a shooting at the Dover Commons shopping center near Delaware State University. A 21-year-old man was wounded in the same incident and hospitalized in stable condition. Gunfire erupted after thousands of homecoming attendees left campus and gathered in nearby areas. More than 50 officers were already responding to disturbances when the shots were fired. Heavy traffic and pedestrian congestion then prompted those officers to transport both victims to the hospital. The investigation is ongoing. Police are seeking information from witnesses and the public.
