Pakistan Checkpost Blast Kills 11, Injures Dozens

A blast targeting a police checkpost in Aman Mela near Darazinda on the DI Khan-Quetta Road killed at least 11 people on September 26, 2026. The dead included eight men, two women and a child. Dawn reported 20 injured; wire accounts put the injured at between 20 and 30. Those hurt included police and customs personnel as well as two civilians. Rescue 1122 teams recovered victims from the debris and continued relief operations at the site. Muhammad Arif Khan directed the deployment of four additional ambulances with staff from DI Khan. Eighteen of the 20 people given initial treatment were referred to medical facilities in Darazinda and Mufti Mahmood Hospital. Bomb disposal teams were dispatched to determine the nature and cause of the explosion. Al Jazeera cited at least seven killed, while Dawn and wire reports put the toll at 11. The cause of the blast had not been disclosed. Mainland KP recorded 54 terrorist attacks in August compared with 36 in July, a 50 percent increase according to PICSS data. Earlier this month, police foiled a TTP-attributed attack on a checkpost in DI Khan’s Daraban area with no casualties reported.
