Swift Set for Academy Museum Gala Performance

Taylor Swift will perform at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures' sixth annual gala in Los Angeles on Oct. 17, 2026. The museum announced the booking on Oct. 8. Charlize Theron receives the Icon Award, Colman Domingo the Vantage Award and John Carpenter the Luminary Award. Proceeds support exhibitions, educational programs, screenings and preservation work. Amy Homma, the museum's director and president, called Swift "an extraordinary talent whose work resonates around the world" and said the organization looks forward to her closing performance. Swift's "I Knew It, I Knew You," written for Toy Story 5, is eligible for Best Original Song. Her set list has not been confirmed. In August 2026 she performed a mashup of "All Too Well," "I Knew It, I Knew You" and "August" at the Grammy Museum. On Sept. 27, 2026 she received the inaugural Artist Director Honors at the MTV VMAs. Contested: Independent Journal Review lists Tom Ford among co-chairs with Robert Rodriguez, Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw; other outlets name only Rodriguez, Spielberg and Capshaw. The Express Tribune reports the gala is presented by Rolex.
