Taylor Swift Surprises Dakota Johnson on SNL
Taylor Swift walked onstage during Dakota Johnson's opening monologue on Saturday Night Live on Oct. 3, 2026, live from Studio 8H. Johnson, hosting for the third time on the eve of her Oct. 4 birthday, discussed dating musicians and introduced Swift as her literal therapist. Swift said she was not Johnson's therapist and that Johnson shows up once a week at her house with an empty bottle of wine, flops on the couch and overshares while Swift says damn that's crazy. A Cleveland reference drew a woo-woo from Swift. Turnstile was the musical guest. The episode included a political-party video spoof cold open and a Pete Hegseth slam-poetry sketch. The pair co-starred in Swift's Patient Zero music video, which she directed; Colin Farrell also starred. Swift released an expanded eight-minute version on Apple Music earlier that Saturday. The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, with four new tracks, was released Sept. 25. This was Swift's first SNL appearance since October 2023. Rated coverage in the record was all left-leaning, with no center or right-rated headlines.
