Dolly Parton nephew accuses manager of bad faith after security firing

Dolly Parton’s estate has sought a temporary restraining order against her nephew Bryan Seaver, alleging that he threatened violence, pressured representatives for money and vowed to damage Parton’s legacy and business relationships. Seaver, who headed Parton’s security operation for more than 20 years and announced her death on Aug. 25, was dismissed along with his security companies after the alleged messages emerged, and replacement teams took over security at Parton’s Nashville homes, museum and warehouse. Court filings cite alleged references to weapons, military-contractor work and violence, as well as demands for money and threats to expose or undermine Parton’s brand; the estate says the communications prompted staff resignations and additional security measures. Seaver disputes the estate’s characterization, saying the private comments were taken out of context and were not threats, and the allegations have not been established in a final ruling. The dispute also includes allegations by Seaver’s representatives that longtime manager Danny Nozell and Pinnacle Bank acted in bad faith and sought to profit from Parton’s legacy, while the termination notice said Parton’s professional interests are controlled by the DP Dean Trust and that Seaver’s personal stake remains intact.
