Documentary Examines U.S. Divisions Across Six States
A documentary marking the approach of America’s 250th birthday, “The Work in Progress,” explores divisions and changing optimism across generations through conversations filmed around the country, including at Iowa’s Wilton Candy Kitchen and with Iowa City residents. A separate BYU film series will feature short documentaries made with residents of all 50 states, paired with screenings and discussions about what it means to be American today. A Newstalk podcast also examines political divisions, discussing the prospects for Democrats in upcoming elections and how President Trump’s actions affect U.S. relations abroad.
