Widespread Kentucky Frost Expected to End Growing Season
A sharp October cooldown is expected to bring the season’s first widespread frost to parts of Kentucky this weekend, with temperatures falling into the 30s overnight and a light freeze possible in isolated spots. Forecasters in Bowling Green say Sunday morning’s frost could end the growing season and advise protecting sensitive plants. Omaha also faces its first frost chance of the season; clear skies, light winds and moisture help frost form when temperatures near the ground approach freezing.
