Connecticut Man Sentenced for $3.5M Amazon Fraud
Ameer Nasir, 25, of Trumbull, Connecticut, was sentenced to two years in federal prison for defrauding Amazon Logistics of more than $3.5 million. Prosecutors said he registered 23 trucking businesses, including companies using false names or other operators’ identities, and used them to obtain more than 1,000 hauling assignments between December 2019 and February 2021. He manipulated Amazon’s transportation system to falsely show trailer movements had been completed and submitted invoices for the nonexistent trips. The court also ordered Nasir to pay about $3.55 million in restitution and serve three years of supervised release; he is free on bond until reporting to prison on Nov. 12, 2026.
