Former WVU basketball player Kerr Kriisa pleads guilty to wire fraud
Former college basketball player Kerr Kriisa pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud in a scheme prosecutors say defrauded two people of millions of dollars from 2022 to 2026. The 25-year-old Estonian, who played for Arizona, West Virginia, Kentucky and Cincinnati, admitted to using false identities and misleading claims to obtain money; in one 2026 email, he posed as “Irene” and demanded $9,000 to avert litigation and publicity. He is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 22, 2026.
